πΆ A Piece, a Scale: Why They Go Hand in Hand
When working on a piece, it's easy to dive straight into the notes, fingerings, and interpretation. But we often overlook a fundamental tool, almost magical: the corresponding scale.
I've decided to share here the scales associated with the pieces I work on and share. Not just for academic exercise collection, but because each scale is a key. A key that unlocks harmonic understanding, improvisation, and musical ear training.
Practicing a scale is more than just running through your scales. It's about learning to hear what you play, anticipate the movements of the piece, feel the tonality under your fingers. And most importantly: it helps improve intonation, the cornerstone of violin playing.
